The Chicago Premiere of Wendy Kesselman's one-act adaptation of "The Diary of Anne Frank" runs through March 24, 2024. Tickets!

“Randy White directs this intimate production with an impressive young cast. Given that this is one of the most produced plays in the world, it’s reasonable to assume this cast could maybe be influenced by other actors’ portrayals of the two families in hiding. Instead, it feels like this cast decided to depict these real-life figures in their own way. Shelley Winters won an Oscar for her somewhat over-the-top performance as Mrs. van Daan, whereas Amy Stricker plays the part with a realistic coolness. One of the production’s most upsetting moments is when she must sacrifice her beloved fur coat so they can afford rations.”

—Buzz Center Stage, John Accrocco

"Kesselman’s version…now makes its Chicago debut in a raw, poignant, and heartfelt production with Young People’s Theatre of Chicago under artistic director Randy White. …this staging is a timely and well-acted piece… The marital tensions of Mr. and Mrs. van Daan (David Krajecki and Amy Stricker) also feel honest and raw.”

The Mousetrap at Citadel Theatre playing through

October 15, 2023

"Amy Stricker, remembered for her fine performance in Citadel’s quirky “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” is a force to be reckoned with. She’s forceful while offering a mysterious, vulnerable quality to her portrayal of Miss Casewell...[she] stands out for her excellent depiction of Miss Casewell. The reason is that she’s grounded in the play’s reality. She never once gives in to histrionics or overacts."

- Colin Douglas/Chicago Theatre Review

"Stricker is a tremendous actress whom audiences will recognize from the Jeff Award-winning production of High Fidelity at Refuge Theatre, as well as recent work on the hit television crime drama Chicago PD. With an ideal sense of timing, she eventually lets the audience see Casewell’s compassionate side. Stricker is one of the best at delivering a fully-developed, well-rounded character."

"A perfect listen. Amy Stricker is a new to me narrator and I really loved her performance. Great tone and she told the story with just the right amount of passion and heart in her voice. Amanda is feisty, fiery and full of sass."

-Audible Review

"The narrator is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She is perfect as Amanda. I loved her voice so much. She's just on point from beginning to end. I hope to get a chance listen to more narration from her. She just nailed the role of this character!"

-Audible Review

"Narrator Amy Stricker's performance was drama enthralled and voiced with reactions. Her intonation was exactly what I would picture as Amanda. She really brought her character to a realistic level. Her tone was smooth and easy listen. I would definitely listen to other audio's performed by this narrator."

-Audible Review

"Amy Stricker did a fabulous job narrating the book. Her accents made the book so much fun and her inflections were terrific."

"Amy Stricker, as performance artist "this girl has got to be a cutter" is an engaging delight, ingenuously mounted in the same vein of Alanis Morrissette and Maureen from RENT."

- Stephen Best/Times Square Chronicles (High Fidelity/Refuge Theatre Project 2016)

"Amy Stricker has some great moments as up-and-coming songstress Marie, belting out songs like "Ready to Settle" and "Terrible Things"."

- Colin Douglas/Chicago Theatre Review (High Fidelity/Refuge Theatre Project 2016)

"The cast of HIGH FIDELITY ... harmonize so beautifully and infuse each note with enough power and verve to fill a much larger theater. The energy throughout this production remains vibrant and never flags. Each moment is sheer joy to watch ... Amy Stricker has a delightful turn as the up-and-coming singer Marie LaSalle."
